Ron Wilson's coaching staff for the U.S. Olympic hockey team is complete, with the addition of assistants John Tortorella and Scott Gordon. Tortorella coaches the New York Rangers and Gordon coaches the New York Islanders. Wilson, the coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, was appointed Olympic coach in April.

Blues buy out final year of McKee’s deal (AP)

The St. Louis Blues are cutting ties with Jay McKee, buying out the final year of the defenseman's contract. The 31-year-old McKee signed a four-year, $16-million free agent contract in 2006 and was due $4 million for next season. The Blues are responsible for two-thirds ($2.64 million) of McKee's salary, which will be spread out the next two seasons.

Sharks move to cut ties with 3 forwards (AP)

The San Jose Sharks are beginning a roster makeover by declining to make qualifying offers to forwards Marcel Goc, Tomas Plihal and Lukas Kaspar. All three forwards played much of last season for the Sharks, who finished with the NHL's best regular-season record before losing their first-round playoff series to Anaheim.

Penguins sign F Adams to 2-year contract (AP)

Craig Adams, a fourth-line forward, has signed a two-year contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Adams, who agreed to terms Monday, had three goals and two assists in 24 playoff games for the Stanley Cup champion Penguins. He had two goals and four assists in 36 games with Chicago and one assist in nine regular-season games after being claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh on March 4.
